The very first thing you should consider is your product or service.  Are they well-made or well-thought out?  Do they satisfy a need or solve a problem?  If what your company offers is of the highest quality, that alone is the best way to reach the world.  Consumers will buy things that provide value to their lives in some way, especially if those items or services are high caliber.  When you promote your business, you are really promoting your products so shouldn’t it be able to sell itself?  To stand on it’s own?

If something is made of sub-par materials or isn’t the best option, why would anyone want it?  No one wants to feel like they just wasted money on a hunk of junk or got ripped off.  If you spend a significant amount of time in early development creating a product that is top-notch, selling it will be a piece of cake.  Take the time to do the research and fine-tune your product before you decide to launch a full-scale marketing campaign.

Sure, if you build it, they will come but if you build it and it’s crap, they will drop you faster than a hot potato.
